Task Management
Create and track tasks across accounts, deals, contracts, and QBRs — all in one place.
Overview
Tasks in Breadbox are action items that can be linked to any object — an account or a deal. Every task has a status, priority, optional due date, and optional assignee. Overdue tasks are highlighted in red and surfaced in the My Tasks view.
My Tasks page
Navigate to My Tasks from the sidebar to see all tasks assigned to you, grouped by urgency:
- Overdue — past due date, not yet completed
- Due Today — due today
- Due This Week — due within 7 days
- Later — due beyond 7 days
- No Due Date — open tasks with no deadline
The sidebar badge next to My Tasks shows your current count of open (non-completed, non-cancelled) tasks.
Task panels on detail pages
Every major record has a task panel embedded directly in its detail view:
- Account detail — Activity tab includes an Account Tasks panel
- Deal detail — Deal Tasks panel appears below the custom fields section
- Focus Mode — task chip in the right sidebar; Add Task action in the quick-action bar
Tasks created from a task panel are automatically linked to that record. They also appear on the My Tasks page when assigned to a team member.
Creating a task
- Click + Add Task in any task panel, or click + Add Task on the My Tasks page.
- Enter a title (required), optional description, priority, and due date.
- Assign it to a team member (optional).
- Click Add Task to save.
Completing a task
Click the circle icon to the left of any task to mark it complete. Completed tasks collapse under a "Show N completed" toggle at the bottom of each panel.
Priority levels
- Low — routine, no urgency
- Medium — standard priority (default)
- High — needs attention soon
- Urgent — drop everything
QBR action items
When you create a QBR and include action items, those action items are automatically converted into Task records linked to the QBR. This means action items appear in:
- The QBR detail page under "Action Items & Tasks"
- The account's unified activity timeline (as task events)
- The My Tasks page for the assigned team member
Email digests & reminders
Breadbox sends two daily digest emails to keep tasks visible without making you live in the app:
- Overdue digest (8am UTC) — one email listing every task assigned to you that's past its due date, with priority badge and linked account or deal context.
- Due-tomorrow digest (9am UTC) — one email listing every task assigned to you that's due the next calendar day (UTC).
Both digests are batched: one email per user per category, regardless of how many tasks are in play. If you have no overdue (or no due-tomorrow) tasks on a given day, the cron skips you entirely — no empty digests. Each email also creates an in-app notification linking to the My Tasks page.
Toggle either digest on or off under Settings → Notifications → Overdue Tasks or Tasks Due Tomorrow.
Activity timeline integration
Tasks linked to an account appear in that account's unified activity timeline under the "All" filter. You can filter to show only task events using the filter bar on the timeline tab.
